Korean Lash Lift in Geneva: the technique, the result, the session

Korean Lash Lift in Geneva: the technique, the result, the session
A lash lift is one of those treatments that quietly changes a morning routine: no more eyelash curler, eyes that look open from the moment you wake up, and lashes that are still entirely your own. Our studio in central Geneva now offers a new way of performing it, the Korean Lash Lift. It is not a separate treatment. It is an option you add to your usual lash lift, in the same appointment. Below we explain what the Korean technique actually is, how it differs from a classic lift, what the result looks like as the weeks go by, and what happens, step by step, when you come to see us on Rue Neuve-du-Molard.

What is a Korean lash lift?

A Korean lash lift is a next-generation lash lift inspired by techniques developed in South Korea. The goal is the same as any lift: give your natural lashes a lasting curl from the root, without gluing anything on or adding any fibres. What changes is the way the lashes are shaped.
In a classic lift, each eyelid gets a single silicone shield. All the lashes are lifted onto it together and take on its curve, a bit like raising a folding fan in one movement. With the Korean method, we work with several small rods, or segments, that isolate the lashes into small groups. Each group is positioned on its own, which lets us control the direction and openness of the curl section by section rather than all at once.

Where the technique comes from

Korean beauty has long favoured lashes that look clean, well separated and slightly textured, as if a mascara had been applied perfectly, without actually wearing any. The Korean lash lift grew out of that search for definition. It does not chase the most dramatic curl possible. It aims for a curl that is more sculpted and more finished, where every small cluster of lashes sits exactly where it should.
Spreading lashes across several segments instead of one support takes more precision, and that careful placement is precisely what shows in the result. The method remains gentle and respects the natural lash, and it ends with a nourishing care step.

Rods versus a single shield: the real difference

Both techniques share the same foundation: a consultation, cleansing, a lifting lotion followed by a setting lotion, a tint and a care step. The difference lies in how the lashes are laid out and shaped. Here is a side-by-side view.

Either way, the tint of the upper and lower lashes and several vitamin serums are included. The serums are there to help your lashes stay hydrated and grow in healthier. If you are also weighing up another variant people often ask about, our article on regular versus keratin lash lifts walks through those differences too.

What to expect, week by week

Before a first appointment, most clients want to know one thing: what will my lashes look like tomorrow, and in a month? Here is a realistic picture.

Day one

When you sit up, your lashes are lifted, tinted and far more visible. With the Korean option they look better separated and more textured, a little as if you had put on a coat of volumising mascara. The curl can look slightly stronger on the first day; that is normal, and it relaxes a touch once the first 24 hours are over. For that first day, the lashes are simply left alone, with no water and no make-up.

The first week

This is usually when the result is at its most enjoyable. The curl has settled, the tint gives depth to the tips, and your lashes look glossier and healthier even without mascara. In the morning, a quick pass with a lash brush is enough to put each cluster back in place. Many clients tell us they simply stop reaching for the mascara during this period.

Weeks six to eight

A lash lift usually lasts six to eight weeks. The curl does not suddenly drop out. What happens is that your lashes renew themselves through their natural growth cycle: lifted lashes shed little by little and new, straight lashes come through. The curl therefore fades gradually, with no harsh line between old and new. This is the right moment to plan your next visit if you want to keep the same look.

Your 75-minute appointment at the studio, step by step

The time we reserve for you is 75 minutes, whether you book the lash lift on its own or with the Korean Lash Lift option. You lie down comfortably and your eyes stay closed from start to finish. The treatment is not painful, and plenty of clients use it as a moment to rest. This is how our team works through it.
  1. Consultation. We look at the length of your lashes, their density and the direction they grow in. This is when we confirm together that the Korean option suits your lashes and the look you have in mind.
  2. Cleansing. The lashes are carefully cleansed and degreased so the lotions work evenly.
  3. Placing the support. For a classic lift, a silicone shield goes on each eyelid. With the Korean option, several small rods are set in place instead.
  4. Positioning the lashes. The lashes are lifted and laid onto the support. In the Korean version, they are divided into small groups, segment by segment, which is the most precise part of the whole treatment.
  5. Lifting lotion, then setting lotion. The first prepares the lash to take its new shape; the second sets the curl.
  6. Tint. Upper and lower lashes are tinted for extra intensity, especially useful when the tips are fair.
  7. Nourishing care. We apply the vitamin serums, along with the care step that belongs to the Korean technique when you have chosen the option.
  8. The reveal. The support comes off, your lashes are brushed through, and you see the result in the mirror.

If you wear contact lenses, take them out before the treatment, so bring your case and perhaps your glasses. For an even more detailed look at each phase, read our guide to how a lash lift works, step by step.

Who the Korean lash lift is for

We particularly recommend the Korean Lash Lift option in two cases.
  • You want a very defined look. If you love the effect of carefully applied mascara, with separated lashes and visible texture, the rod technique comes much closer to it.
  • Your lashes are fine and close together. When lashes are numerous and tightly packed, a single shield tends to gather them into clumps. Working in small groups spreads them out and shows off their density.
Your lashes also need enough length to be laid onto the support. If they are very short or sparse, we talk it through honestly at the consultation, so expectations are right or so we can point you towards what will suit you best.

When a classic lift is all you need

The Korean option is never compulsory. If your lashes are rather straight or point downwards and you simply want open, natural-looking eyes, the classic lift does that job very well. It is also a lovely choice if you prefer an understated result, the kind people notice without quite knowing why. Have a look at real results in our lash lift gallery to see what appeals to you.

When it is better to wait

We do not perform a lash lift on irritated or infected eyes; it is better to move the appointment. If your skin or eyes are sensitive, or you are prone to allergies, please mention it when you book so we can advise you, including on whether a patch test makes sense for you. And if your lashes were damaged by a lift done elsewhere, our Lash Lift Rescue treatment is designed to look after them before any new curl is considered.

Aftercare

How long the curl holds depends a great deal on what happens right after the session. Nothing complicated, but a few habits matter.

The first 24 hours

  • Keep water away from your lashes, so be careful when washing your face or showering.
  • Avoid steam, saunas, hammams and swimming pools.
  • No eye make-up and no mascara.
  • No oily make-up remover around the eyes.
  • Do not rub or pinch your lashes.

After that

Once the first day is behind you, life goes back to almost normal. Brush your lashes gently in the morning to set the curl back in place. Sleeping on your back for the first few nights helps avoid pressing them into the pillow. A nourishing lash serum, for example one with keratin or suitable oils, is perfectly fine, but keep oily products away from the lash line itself, as they can weigh the curl down.
If you also like to look after your brows, the same shaping idea exists for them; our article on brow lamination in Geneva explains how it works.

Price and how to book

A lash lift costs CHF 75 for a 75-minute appointment, including the upper and lower lash tint and the vitamin serums. The Korean Lash Lift option adds CHF 10 and no extra time, so a lash lift with the option comes to CHF 85 in the same 75-minute slot. A deposit is taken when you book online. You will find every price on our service prices page, and our lash lift in Geneva page presents the treatment more broadly.
Booking is straightforward. On the booking page, the option appears as a tick box labelled "Korean Lash Lift". The links in this article open that page with the option already ticked, so all you need to do is pick a date and time. You can book the lash lift with the Korean Lash Lift option in a couple of clicks.
The studio is at Rue Neuve-du-Molard 19 in the heart of Geneva, a short walk from the main shopping streets. If you are still torn between the two versions, go ahead and add the option when you book: at the consultation we will tell you frankly whether your lashes are well suited to it, and adapt the treatment with you.
